Answer

If you start multiple Expert loaders (max. 2) earlier than V3.6.7, the one started later always goes into reference mode, which you cannot exit.
To edit multiple projects at the same time, use V3.6.7 or later version of Expert.
When you have already had the Expert loader, you can upgrade it free of charge.
